About Learn Guitar Fast Tips
Hi my name is Ian, and my goal is to get you playing the songs you want on the guitar as quickly as possible, even if you’ve never played before and are starting TODAY.
The way I do it is simple. First, I teach you the basics you need. Holding a guitar, how to strum, essential chords, that sort of stuff. Secondly, I give you a huge list of song tutorials so you can have fun while strengthening your essential guitar skills.
And – Boom, you’re playing guitar!
Ok, obviously it is never THAT simple, but on the flip side, it isn’t nearly as hard as you think. The most difficult aspect of learning the guitar is gaining proficiency in the physical aspects of playing, the essentials being the ability to press strings, press chords, change between chords and strum smoothly.
It is, unfortunately a necessary part of learning the guitar. It sucks, and most people give up because of it. My way of helping you stay motivated is by :
- Keeping things as simple as possible
- Teaching you only the necessary skills you need
- Giving you alot of songs to improve your basics on
Music theory, and other non-essential knowledge is withheld until you reach a level where it will actually be useful to you. No use teaching good running technique to a baby that can’t even stand.
Why I Created This Site
My main goal isn’t to teach you everything there is to know about guitar. Any dummies guitar book on Amazon will do that for you. My main goal is keep you motivated, by showing you how with just a hand full of chords you can play literally hundreds of songs. If you can stay motivated long enough for you to get to a point where you can play even just one song you’ve always wanted to play, this will help you stay motivated for the next song, and the next and the next.
Guitarists grow on a song by song basis as we gradually accumulate new skills and techniques that we need in order to get past a song. Some of my song tutorials are super easy, some of them require abit more effort, however none of mine are so insanely difficult that they are beyond your ability to learn them if you’ve gone through the material in the beginner guitar course.
You, I assume want to play the guitar because you want to learn some songs that you can play for yourself, for a girl/boy that you like or for your kids if you have any. You could be a grandparent or retiree who wants to learn guitar to stay active and have a skill you can share with your friends or family. You could be a teacher or student who wants to be able to play tunes the next time you’re out on the next school camping trip.
Whoever you are, I’m assuming you’d like to learn the guitar, and you want the process to be as painless as possible so you can start enjoying the guitar sooner rather than later.
This site is about making that happen.
From Malaysia, I currently live and work in Australia and have been there since 2004. I enjoy normal things like spending time with my family, watching shows, cooking and occasionally attending to my garden etc etc. Growing up in Malaysia, I spent alot of time outside (as it is warm allll the time) and for a while was very active in martial arts until I realised how clumsy I was.
In school I played and performed in bands and also played the guitar in my church community as a youth leader. Since graduating and starting work, I got back into playing music in church and met alot of great people in the process.
I am not a hardcore musician who practices 4 to 8 hours a day, but I enjoy playing the guitar and continuously improve my skills when I discover a skill I want to master. I’ve found that in order to succeed at learning anything, you need to find something you love about what it is you are learning. This love will help carry you through the challenging times when you need to really make an effort, and there are always those times when learning anything, especially the guitar.
For me, my love for the guitar is closely linked to helping, entertaining and inspiring others. It makes me happy to see other people happy, so I am hope the lessons you find on this site will be useful to you.
